REFLECTION

This module allowed me to complete my dissertation in its entirety for the first time and I gained a lot from the experience. At the beginning, I continued from last semester by drafting my work. Dr. Jinchi asked us to create a table to extract each person's theme, which I found very useful because it quickly helped me identify what my theme should focus on.

Next was writing the 5.0 discussion section, which I considered the most challenging part this semester. Initially, I only cited data from my own survey for each argument. Later, Dr. Jinchi advised that every argument should be supported by strong, authoritative articles because otherwise the claims would lack credibility. Finding and reviewing relevant literature was quite challenging for me and took a lot of time, but I learned a great deal in the process.

Another aspect was making the dissertation look professional, which meant paying attention to formatting. While adjusting various formats, I often overlooked small details, which I hope to be more mindful of in the future. Moreover, when reducing plagiarism and AI-generated content, as a non-native English speaker I relied on translation tools to check grammar and accuracy. This process required significant time and effort and also improved my English writing skills.

Then came the flipbook part. I continuously modified the visual design but could not achieve the effect I wanted. Eventually, I decided to use a single red line as an element. On the cover, there was a concert ticket countdown displaying 00:00:01. As readers followed the red line down through the book, they eventually reached 00:00:00 on the last page, which signified that the ticket had been successfully obtained. I used red and orange for the overall color palette to convey the anxiety of the ticket rush while ending with the joy of securing a desired ticket. This design captured exactly what I wanted to express and I feel my layout and design skills have improved as a result.

Finally, the research article section went smoothly with only minor adjustments, such as arranging multiple authors alphabetically when mentioned together.

In summary, this module has been fulfilling and enriching. It allowed me to learn many skills and details related to academic writing that will be invaluable in the future. I am especially grateful to my supervisor, Yip Jinchi, who patiently and gently guided us through each task in the simplest way, which reduced much of our confusion. She also encouraged us on Teams with motivating words and helped us successfully complete the dissertation in this semester.
