TASK 2 - Production Shoot Trailer/Editing and colour grading
For the second part of Task 2, we were assigned a storyboard from
Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. This is the division
of members for our team:

Schedule & Timeline:
One week before the actual shoot, the director helped us create a
schedule and timeline for each shot and prepared rough storyboard
sketches.

Editing the clips and making the trailer:
We had to create the shots into trailer of around 1 minute. In the
trailer we have to include texts, music and these combinations of
different colour gradings as well:

I first thought about the desired effect of the trailer, then
searched for suitable background music and sound effects on
Pixabay.

To create a suspenseful and tense atmosphere, I extracted the
character’s dialogue and placed it before the corresponding video clips.
I also applied Gaussian blur, zoom, and opacity adjustments, and used a
heartbeat sound effect to enhance the mood.

Task2 Final Outcome:
REFLECTION
For this Task 2 project, it was my first time learning how to edit videos on a computer using Adobe Premiere Pro, including how to do color correction and color grading. It was a very interesting experience. In the second part of the task, our group of 13 worked together as a team. From assigning roles to planning the shoot and filming on set, everyone contributed and collaborated to produce what I believe is a high-quality video. Even though we faced many challenges during the shoot, we worked together patiently and solved the problems as a team.
During the filming, I was responsible for being the boom operator. I worked closely with the team member in charge of location sound. Through this, I learned how to assemble the audio equipment and the best posture for recording sound, which I found very interesting. Additionally, I learned how to choose camera angles and how to set up lighting during the shoot.
When editing the trailer, I initially didn’t know where to start. After watching many references, I decided to begin with the background music, which helped guide the rest of the editing process. For the color grading part, the tutorials shared by the lecturer both in class and after class were very helpful. After exploring and experimenting, I was able to complete this task.
Overall, I think this was a very fun and meaningful project. I learned a lot throughout the production process, and it was a valuable and enjoyable experience.
