Inspired by Poster 2 and the examples Mr.Fauzi Yusoff shared, I designed an arched door to show stepping from reality into a dream world. I added clouds and elements from Alice in Wonderland like tea cups, the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat to make the design more dreamy.

I thought the previous sketch was too simple so in this one I added two pink moons and a starry background inside the arched door.

TITLE: Dream Worldland

ARTIST STATEMENT: When it comes to surrealism, the first thing that comes to mind is my favorite Disney movie as a true fan—Alice in Wonderland. I incorporated elements from the film, including The White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, and teacups. I placed my photo within a doorway, set against my favorite starry sky background, as if stepping through the door to escape the noise of reality and enter a dreamy, otherworldly realm.

Visual Composition: The arched door as the central element serves as a strong focal point, effectively symbolizing the transition from reality to a dreamlike world.

Elements: The inclusion of iconic "Alice in Wonderland" motifs like the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, teacups, and playing cards adds a sense of familiarity and wonder. The pink moons and starry background further enhance the dreamy, ethereal quality of the scene.

Color Palette: The soft, pastel tones of the moons and clouds blend well with the fantastical theme, creating a cohesive and enchanting aesthetic.

Surrealism: The floating clouds and chessboard floor create a surreal, out-of-reality feeling, reinforcing the dreamland concept.

This piece represents my vision of stepping into a magical and limitless realm of imagination. The arched door serves as a metaphor for leaving the constraints of reality behind and entering a world where logic fades and creativity takes over. The elements like the teacups, rabbit, and cat symbolize chaos and curiosity, capturing a sense of playful adventure within the dream.

Through this work, I invite others to explore the unknown, where dreams blur the lines between fantasy and reality. It’s a call to embrace imagination and let the mind wander freely in a world of endless possibilities.
